There are decisions where a leader already knows the right answer and can also see exactly what it will cost. Those are the hardest ones anybody in charge has to make. The Bhagavad Gita speaks to them more directly than anything else Hyuma Mahadevia has read, and The Ethical Leader’s Gita is his attempt to read it the way it deserves. Arjuna faced one of those decisions on the battlefield. The war was a just one and the duty was his, and on the other side stood his elders, his teachers and his cousins. He put down his bow. What follows is his conversation with Krishna, his charioteer, while both armies wait. Those seven hundred verses are the Bhagavad Gita. The Ethical Leader’s Gita gives each of the 700 verses a page of its own. Every page carries the Sanskrit shloka, a transliteration, the meaning in plain English and in Hindi, a short Context, The Teaching on what the verse asks of a person who leads others, one italic line to hold through the day, and a Reflect question. The verses are gathered into conversation groups, each closed by a Group Summary with its lessons, its pitfall and a question to ask yourself. An Index of Management Areas at the end lets a reader begin from whatever they are facing, from accountability and anger to succession and trust. The book is made to rest on a leader’s desk and be opened every morning. One verse a morning is enough. It is a perpetual table book for leaders and an excellent gifting book. With forewords by Prof. Dr. Sunil Maheshwari and Prof. Dr. Vishal Gupta of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. 880 pages, hardback with jacket, first edition dated 20 October 2026, ISBN 978-93-344-7532-6, MRP ₹4,995. He holds an MBA in Finance, is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, and took his Diploma in Offset Printing Technology in Germany. He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, and one of the courses he took there turned into The Ethical Leader’s Gita. A course at IIMA under Prof. Dr. Sunil Maheshwari showed him how the Bhagavad Gita is built, how to read a verse and what to do with it, and Prof. Dr. Vishal Gupta opened for him the way it works on a person psychologically. He had been reading the verses as instruction. After that he could see them working. He is an IRONMAN and an IRONMAN Certified Coach who trains athletes towards their own running and IRONMAN ambitions as a way of giving back. He founded Passo a Passo, an 18-week holistic wellbeing journey grounded in the practical wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, and he writes on LinkedIn about the Bhagavad Gita and about leading a company from the inside.
